Methodism 101 Class - Thursdays, October 1 & 15, 6:30-7:30pm

First week we will talk about the history of the church and the second week we’ll talk about the current structure and beliefs. Women's Group

2nd Fridays of the month - next is September 11th

from 6-7:30pm in the Family Life Center

All women are invited to join us for a time of fellowship, devotional, dinner (potluck) and crafting. The current study is "Nature Walk" by Leslie Eaton. Please RSVP to lacykline419@gmail.com if you'd like to attend so that we can make sure to have enough supplies available

Missions and Service

Come join Ancora in helping to feed kids by packing meals for them to eat on the weekends! You can join us once a week, once a month, or one-time. It's totally up to you. Life Together at Southside Community Center

518 S Guadalupe St San Marcos

2nd Saturday 3:30pm - 5:30pm

(next is September 12)

This is a ministry that involves providing a meal, drinks, and dessert for the people being served by Southside Community Center in San Marcos. Food is prepped before the event and then it usually takes about 5-6 volunteers at the event to pass out food and visit with those being served. If you are interested in helping or going, talk to Pastor Kallie.

First Sunday Food Offering

On the first Sunday of the month we will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Blessings Box during both services. With the rising cost of groceries, the Blessings Box is getting utilized more. Your donations help us keep the Blessings Box full and share with our neighbors. Please consider bringing food items with you to the first Sunday of the Month offering! (We are especially in need of canned soups, chilis, canned meat products (tuna, chicken, etc), peanut butter and diapers)

During 9am service there will be a basket on the first pew for you to place your items before service, during children's time, offering or communion, or after the service. During the 11am service, you can place your items in the bin by the entrance door.

Food Distribution

Kyle UMC has partnered with the Hays County Food Bank to provide food boxes to those in need in our community. Distributions will be every other Thursday from 1-2pm, next distribution is September 10th. Pre-registration is required to determine eligibility to receive food. If you or someone you know needs food, please contact food@kyleumc.org for more information.

Volunteers needed to help pick up food, set up and help during the distribution. Email food@kyleumc.org to be added to the volunteer list.

Opportunity to serve- 11am service

We are in need of more ushers and greeters for the 11:00am service. If you would like to serve as usher, please talk to Sue Parker or email Pastor Kallie at pastor@kyleumc.org

Donuts and Fellowship

Sunday mornings in the Fellowship Hall at 10am and 11am in the Family Life Center

Did you know our yummy weekly donuts are provided by generous people in our congregation?

If you would like to contribute donuts for one Sunday, you can sign up in the Fellowship Hall or Family Life Center or talk to Lisa and Ana Bible about how you can get involved. Please let them know if you intend to bring donuts so we don't duplicate efforts.

Adult Small Groups

Grief Support Group

Inspire Grief Support group meets every Thursday from 6-7:30pm in the Fellowship Hall Classroom 3 (Please use Bell Tower Entrance).

Grief changes us. Whether you’ve lost a loved one, experienced a major life transition, or are quietly carrying a change that reshaped your world, you don’t have to hold it alone. We invite you to join our Grief Support Group — a space made up of people who all share one important thing: we know what it means for life to feel different than it once did. There is something profoundly comforting about sitting in a room (or circle) where you don’t have to explain the weight you’re carrying. Being with others who have experienced loss can ease the isolation that grief so often brings.

Wherever you are in your grief journey, you are welcome. There is no timeline to follow, no checklist to complete, and no “right” way to grieve. This group honors your process exactly as it is. We gather to listen, to share (if and when you’re ready), and to support one another with gentleness and respect. You are free to speak, to sit quietly, to reflect — to show up as you are. If you are carrying loss or navigating change, we would be honored to have you join us. You don’t have to do this by yourself.

The Chosen Bible Study

Mondays at 6:30pm in the Family Life Center

Adult Sunday School meets at 10am every Sunday in the Fellowship Hall

The Wallace Room Class focuses in on the scripture used in worship that Sunday and connecting it’s meaning to our lives. This class meets in Classroom 3 and is led by James Bean.

The Christ in the Current class is a conversation based class looking at scripture through the lens of current events and caring for one another.

This class meets in Classroom 2 in the Fellowship Hall and is led by Sean and Jodie Claes.

Tuesday Coffee Group

Everyone invited! Please plan to join us on Tuesday, Sept 15 at 9:30am for a 1-hr social time in Pastor Kallie's office in the FLC. Bring your own choice of beverage to sit and chat. We meet every other Tuesday, same time and place.

Faithful Heart Yoga

For Active Older Adults, Chair Yoga options available, and anyone who wants to feel a Christian connection while working to heal and/or strengthen your body while building your connection to Christ!

THE SACK LUNCH BUNCH

Time to get out and join the Sack Lunch Bunch! A new monthly fellowship gathering held on the second Monday of each month at 11 am in the Family Life Center.

Children's Ministry

New Nursery Staff Hired!

We have hired two new nursery staff, Summer and Skylar! More information to come!

New Fall Sunday School Series: Deep Blue Rotation Stations

Children will be immersed in the Bible with a new rotational curriculum from Deep Blue!

In a rotational learning setting, the same Bible story or theme is taught for several weeks and each week, learners rotate to a different station. The story remains the same, but children encounter it in different ways in each station.

This allows kids to learn one story in depth and gives kids the opportunity to learn in their preferred learning style. There are seven different learning styles: Art, Science, Games, Cooking, Missions, Spiritual Practices, and Storytelling/Drama. We’ll choose a learning style for each week of the month using the same story!

New Worship Addition: Sermon Notes for our older kids!

We would like to help encourage our older kids that have received their bibles to bring their bibles to church and to actively participate in worship. Starting this Sunday, we will provide Sermon Notes pages for kids on the sign-in tables at the front and back of church that our kids 3rd grade and up can pick up and fill out during the service as they follow along during the scripture readings, sermon, prayers and other parts of the service. Kids can bring their filled out Sermon notes to Miss Alissa's office after church for a small candy or prize!

Our children's ministry is growing and we need help with all ages for Sunday School! Come be a part of something great! Teachers generally rotate Sundays teaching based on availability.

Youth Ministry

Youth Sunday School meets at 10am on Sundays!

Youth group meets for fellowship, food, fun and service.

Next youth group: September 13th from 6-7:30pm

Confirmation!

We plan to have a confirmation group this Fall (dates TBD). If your child is interested or you're interested in learning more, let me know! Confirmation is available for youth 6th-12th grade when they are ready.

Confirmation format: Typically we pair or group youth(s) with a mentor (with your help deciding who) and they will meet to go over the different sessions as their schedules allow (can be at church, at Starbucks, a public place or at your home- as long as it follows safety guidelines) and then we'll get together as a larger group for some group activities before the Confirmation Service.

Our purpose is to serve God by dedicating ourselves to pray each day for each person, need and concern as listed in both the confidential prayer list and the persons named in the church bulletin and newsletter.
